21st Century Fellows Program
The ART OF COLLABORATIVE LEADERSHIP is an intensive five-day retreat workshop in which participants will hone skills related to articulating vision, managing difficult conversations, and identifying personal leadership strengths and challenges. In collaboration with the Pipeline Project and the Haas Jr. Fund Flexible Leadership Investment Program, Rockwood is offering this training to participants in the 21st Century Fellows Program.
The 21st Century Fellows Program is a year-long program for people of color managers currently working at national and international LGBT human rights, service and advocacy organizations. The Fellows Program includes four residential retreats and customized coaching and leadership support for 15-20 leaders of color.
About the Pipeline Project
The Pipeline Project is a recruitment, retention, and leadership advancement effort created to produce programs that together will represent a long-term effort to increase the number of people of color working within the nationís LGBT rights, service and advocacy sector and ultimately increase the level of diversity in the leadership of our movement. The Pipeline Project works to achieve significantly increased levels of diversity within LGBT advocacy and service organizations and in the leadership of those organizations with a program that focuses on:
- Recruitment and retention of diverse talent for LGBT organizations;
- Mechanisms, programs and strategies to advance people of color to leadership positions within LGBT organizations and programs; and
- Strategies to both prepare LGBT organizations for, and invest them in, significant levels of diversity and inclusion.
About the Flexible Leadership Investment Program
The Flexible Leadership Investment Program, a project of the Tides Center, was established by the Evelyn & Walter Haas Jr. Fund to provide leadership development support to the organizations that are critical to the work the Haas Jr. Fund cares about. The FLI provides consulting, training, peer learning opportunities and other support to strengthen the leadership capacity of staff and boards of organizations that receive the Fundís Flexible Leadership Awards, Leadership Capacity Grants and other leadership investments.
21st Century Fellowship Selection Criteria
21st CENTURY FELLOWSHIP SELECTION CRITERIA based on
- Leadership potential, current capacity and commitment to full participation
- Contributing to a diverse learning community - gender, race, geography job
- Being grantees of Arcus, Gill and Haas Jr. Fund.
